RECENT INTEGRATION WITH THE CD SPECTROPOLARIMETER AND THE FLUORESCENCE SPECTROMETER
JASCO has developed a spectrometer that is capable of simultaneously measuring Circular Dichroism (CD) and Fluorescence emission spectra on the same sample. Both Circular Dichroism and Fluorescence spectroscopy have been traditionally used for protein and peptide characterization studies and the ability to measure both on the same sample at the same time is a significant time saver over individual measurements. The added benefit is that many of these samples are very limited in quantity due to extensive isolation and purification.
When combined with the thermal and chemical denaturizing accessories of the JASCO system both CD and Fluorescence studies can be carried out on the same small sample volume. The system is capable of monitoring either fixed wavelengths vs. temperature or pH as well as spectral scans producing 3 dimensional plots of CD and Fluorescence vs. wavelength vs. temperature or pH.
