UHPLC - ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY
The X-LC 3000 system is fully optimized to operate at a wide range of flow rates and pressures (up to 19,000 psi) for applications using conventional 2, 5 and 10um particle sized columns as well as the new sub-2um packing materials. Recent advances in pellicular or porous shell packing materials which have a larger particle size and can operate with high efficiency at higher flow rates has created a different need; the X-LC 3000 system also works well with porous shell columns.
Fast and Responsive Gradients
UHPLC columns with sub 2um packing materials are generally supplied as shorter narrower columns (2.1mm ID x 50mm L) compared to conventional analytical columns (4.6mm ID x 250mm l), this creates a need for lower flow rates; typical from 250 - 750uL/min. At these lower flow rates the pump metering accuracy and gradient formation is critical to achieve fast, reproducible separations. The new XLC-3000 pumping system is optimized to operate at flow rates from below 50uL/min through to 2mL/min suitable for use with UHPLC and conventional HPLC columns at pressures from a few psi to 19,000 psi. With fine metering control of the solvent delivery and an efficient mixing design with low dwell volume, the system can deliver superior gradient separations in minutes.
The X-LC-3159AS autosampler has a fast duty cycle coupled with a large sample capacity (up to 224 vials or 2 x 384 well plates) to deliver excellent productivity. The loop injection system is extremely durable and can operate continuously at pressures up to 19,000psi. With full or partial loop fill options the autosampler delivers the performance and flexibility for use in any laboratory from simple QA to demanding research and method development.
Separations using sub 2um columns often produce peak width of just a few seconds (or less). The response of conventional detectors is generally too slow for this application and the peaks become compressed due to the lack of data points. We have developed a range of detectors fully optimized to dealing with these high speed requirements using a response rate of 100Hz.
